Abstract: With the deep and extensive study of translatology for recent decades, researchers have basically reached a consensus that a theoretical system can be constructed, and considerable progress has been achieved. In this climate, Multidimensional Exploration of Theories of Translatology emerged as an enlightening masterpiece on translation studies, which highlights the multi-disciplinary nature, integrates theoretic thinking with translating practice, and presents new academic perspectives. On the basis of analyzing the theoretical and methodological features of this book, this paper discusses how researchers could accomplish further development in translatology. Three directions are suggested, including borrowing theories and methods from other disciplines so as to examine various elements and rules involved in translating from diversified perspectives, innovating theoretical concepts so as to produce a series of interrelated terminologies, and exploring research categories so as to establish a self-dependent theoretical system.
