Abstract: Gary Snyder is a well known ecological poet in the 20th century America, who integrates Hua yen thoughts with rich ecological and environmental theories into his own ecology to form his unique eco poetics. In the formation and practice of his poems, Hua yen thoughts not only become his “philosophical basic”, but also help to establish his concept of ecological and environmental protection. Everything in Nature is true and absolute existence, and they are interrelated and interdependent, therefore, all forms of life (including human beings and all the other animals and plants) are definitely equal, and coexist in the natural and harmonious “community”. Snyder’s ecology reflects the formation of ecological crisis, the way of human beings’ survival, and the relationships between Man and Nature, which provides a unique perspective for us to study and solve contemporary ecological crises and environmental problems, and is of great significance to promote ecological and environmental protection.
