Abstract: Minto Pyramid, proposed by Barbara Minto, is a way to organize the overall structure of a writing. Through the use of a pyramid structure, writers can introduce the subject matter and complete the body part with a question-solution template and effectively summarize the grouping of ideas. This paper discusses the incorporation of Minto Pyramid into English academic presentation course, thus solving some of the obvious problems students have, including inadequate topics, loose structure and less concise summary statements. Two outlines, written by the same group of students before and after the teacher's intervention, are analyzed and rated. The data processed by SPSS indicates the remarkable effect of Minto Pyramid on teaching. Currently when textbooks and documentation on English academic presentation are in great shortage, Minto Pyramid is of great value, which is easy to learn and practice as it offers practical templates and testing principles.
