Abstract: The paper analyses and demonstrates the essence of theta structure in semantic performance and shift of Russian active-passive voice verbs and unaccusative verbs, trying to find a new correspondence or link point between verb (sentence) semantics and theta theory and thus making clear problems of variation of theta structure within semantic mechanism. The study has practical meanings for deepening our recognition of active-passive voice semantic relations widely existing in natural language.
