The value and importance of translation technology have been recognized by language service providers and translation training institutes. However, some scholars still hold attitudes that belittle the teaching of translation technology. Based on the teaching experience of two decades, the author of this paper holds that (1) well organized training programs can help promote the proficiency of the propagation of translation technology; (2) translation technology training should not be limited to the training of use of a certain CAT tool, but try to develop the trainees ability in solving problems with computer applications; and (3) the sense and ability of applying translation technology is complementary to translation competence, which can help translation learners adapt to the production process of modern language service industry.
