Abstract: Spinal cord injury is still a disease which is hard to cure in clinic and a project under research. The operation treatment and corresponding auxiliary treatment did not achieve a satisfied result. The cell-therapy of stem cells transplants to the patients' spinal cord injury area is a promising method. By the replacement of damaged cells, reducing the formation of glial scar, promoting the survival of neurons axonal regeneration and the synapse's formation, stem cell promote the recovery of function and morphology. In thispaper, the application of stem cell therapy in treating spinal cord injury was reviewed and prospected.
