Abstract: Objective To explore the application of inferior trapezius myocutaneous flap for repairing high-voltage electrical injury in head and neck region. Methods Since 2007, 5 patients with high-voltage electrical injury in head and neck region were treated with inferior trapezius myocutaneous flap. Results All the inferior trapezius myocutaneous flaps were survived. The patients were followed up for 3-24 months, satisfactory appearance and functional recovery were achieved and no shoulder dysfunction was observed. Conclusion The inferior trapezius myocutaneous flap has the advantage of rich blood supply, simple operative procedure, powerful anti-infection ability and little effect on shoulder function, and is suitable for the repair of high-voltage electrical injury in head and neck region.
