Abstract: Objective To investigate the methodology of improving the morphology of oblate anterior naris. Methods From December 2014 to May 2015, 57 cases with congenital inclinate oval-shaped nostrils were measured by digital photographies before and after operation. The morphology of anterior naris was corrected by open approach rhinoplasty with interdomal suture, columellar-upper lip V-Y sliding flap and autologous cartilage/prosthesis implantation. Results The surgical incisions healed primarily in all patients. The nostril direction and angle was obviously improved. All the patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months, invisible scar was observed, no recurrence and undesirable complications were observed. Conclusion The interdomal suture and columellar-upper lip V-Y sliding flap can effectively correct the nostril orientation and the nasal base shape.

Key words: Nostril orientation, Nasal base shape, Infra-tip lobule, Anthropometry of nasal aesthetics
