Advances and Retrospect in One-stage Repair of Bilateral Cleft Lip

Abstract: Congenital bilateral cleft lip is one of the severe oral and maxillofacial deformities. Due to its unique characteristics and anatomical abnormalities, the result of first-stage repair directly related to the long-term facial development, appearance and physiological function and second-stage repair. So primary repair of the bilateral cleft lip should reduce the incidence of postoperative nasolabial deformities and the degree of deformity as far as possible. In this paper, according to the recent literatures, the determined advances on first-stage repair of bilateral cleft lip were reviewed.
