Progress in the Treatment of Venous Malformations

Abstract: Venous malformations (VMs) is one the most common congenital vascular malformation, and the exact cause of the disease is not very clear. The clinical treatment is always various according to the extent of the disease and affected organs. Up to now, there is no single method for treatment. The treatment strategy should be individualized and multidisciplinary for complicated cases, in order to achieve effective results. Endovascular therapy for VMs is found to be safe and effective, which may be the main technique in the treatment of VMs. In this paper, the current progress in the treatment, diagnosis and therapeutic management of VMs were reviewed.
