Abstract: A variety of physical, mechanical, chemical and pathogenic microbial stimuli may cause damage to the exocrine glands, resulting in decreased secretion. The effect of drug therapy is limited, the risk of organ transplantation is high with limited donor. The mesenchymal stem cells provide a new idea for the repair of various exocrine glandular damages because of its strong proliferation ability, multi-differentiation ability and paracrine/autocrine effects. In this paper, the application and research progress of paracrine effects of mesenchymal stem cells in exocrine tissue engineering were reviewed.
