Abstract: To seek a suitable replacement material for the treatment of long segment defect of ureter, has always been one of the hot topics in the field of clinical urology. At present the replacement materials mainly include: intestine (ileum, appendix), vein, omentum majus, bladder-renal pelvis flap and tissue engineering materials. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of ureteral replacement materials and the latest research progress were reviewed.
