Research and Application of Heave Compensation Technology in Deep-Sea Mining Engineering

Abstract:

In this paper, the significance of the research on heave compensation technology in deep-sea mining engineering is described, and the overall plan, working principle as well as workflow of the heave compensator are studied that ensures that the lifting pipe can obtain the supporting force and compensation force during operation, maintain a stationary position relative to the seabed and work steadily. Through the simulation analysis method, the dynamic comprehensive performance of the heave compensation system is studied. The influence law of vibration period, load size, hydraulic line flow resistance, friction and other factors of the mining ships on the compensation effect is also summarized. In addition, the speed-limited safety technology is analyzed, while the functional principle, structural composition and test plan of the speed-limited shut off valve are studied. The safety guarantee effect is verified by the shipment applications. As a result, a more comprehensive research result on the heave compensation technology in deep-sea mining is obtained.
