Abstract: The new environment of international culture today provides us with potential new chances to convey in translation more cultural information of Mao Zedong poems. It is desirable to translate them (here, the seven sinogram octaves and quatrains) into artefacts with fixed verse length and conformity to traditional English metres (e.g. 12 13 syllables in 6 feet), but using only one rhyme in each piece, in order to demonstrate to international readers more substantially the unique charms of classical Chinese poetry. This is an innovation in poetry translation for more perfection by appropriately combining Chinese with English elements; and credibly the international English readers will gradually accept such a form of translation.
