Abstract: Howard Goldblatt's intention of partial language manipulation and text flexibility was embodied through “translation hybridity” in translating MoYan's works. Taking “Red Sorghum” as a case study, this present paper made a comparison analysis on “translation hybrid” between Mo's work and Goldblatt's corresponding translation in the respective light of language, culture, rhetoric and politics. The analysis delivered both positive and negative effect Goldblatt's version made on the original one. And the translator's specific identity and attitude towards foreign culture behind translating were discussed.
