Abstract: Cutaneous wound healing and hypertrophic scar are both the research hotspots in plastic surgery. There are a number of animal models for research. However, phylogenetic variation of skin structure between human and other animals hinders the development of optimal animal model. In this paper, the advancement of animal models for cutaneous wound healing and hypertrophic scar was reviewed.
