Research Progress on Tension-Related Therapy of Scar

Abstract: Hypertrophic scar and keloid are pathological scars caused by excessive deposition of collagen. Mechanical tension can cause fibroblast proliferation and transformation through various mechanisms, regulate protein secretion, inhibit apoptosis, induce pathological scar, which promotes scar hyperplasia and expansion. Tension-related treatments including incision design, tension reduction suture, skin tension reduction device, wound tape and pressure therapy, can effectively inhibit scar hyperplasia and prevent pathological scar occurrence and recurrence.
