Abstract: Alveolar cleft is a common congenital malformation.Alveolar bone grafting(ABG)is the common surgical method to restore the cleft.Volumetric measurement of alveolar cleft defect is of great importance for accurate preoperative planning and postoperative evaluation. As it evolved, the volumetric assessment has gone through the era of human evaluation to the two-dimensional image era,the three-dimensional image era and the 3D model era. With the development of imaging, computer technology and 3D printing technology, the volumetric measurement of the alveolar cleft defect will be more accurate, rapid and solid modeling, which can provide effective help for the clinic.
