Abstract: Subsea production control system is among the most important equipment applied in subsea oil and gas development community. According to the construction distinction of subsea production control systems, there are totally eight typical control architectures, i.e., direct hydraulic control system, piloted hydraulic control system, sequential hydraulic control system, direct electro-hydraulic control system, multiplexed electro-hydraulic control system, all-electric control system, powered autonomous remote control system and integrated control buoy. For all these configurations, we explore the emerging background, structure characteristics, operation principle, application ranges, advantages and drawbacks. Finally, the main factors influencing the control system design are analyzed. This research can provide somewhat directive significance for the independent development of our subsea production control systems in the future.
