Abstract: This paper reports a quantitative and qualitative study on the annual development of translation studies (TS) in China, by reviewing the TS articles published in 27 academic journals of foreign studies. The research findings include (1) “domain-specific TS”, “literature TS” and “general TS” are the top three TS branches in terms of percentage contribution of journal articles; (2) “domain-specific TS” showed a stable increase, while “general TS” a stable decrease. In addition, through providing an analytical account of the research themes emerged in the ten TS branches and selectively reviews the research findings in “general TS” and “applied TS”, the paper points out some methodological and research focal problems in 2013 TS and suggests an interdisciplinary and multidimensional research trend in future.
