Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of transfixing suture in sealing up the dead space resulting from resection of body surface tumors. Methods Among 208 cases of body surface tumor, relatively huge lacuna was formed in176 cases after tumor resection. All cases were divided into two groups by manner of operation: regular layered suture technique combined with drainage(group A,n=97) and transfixing suture technology combined with pressure dressing(group B,n=79) respectively. The incidence of complications of two groups was observed and compared after operation. Results The incidence rate of complication is 7.21% in group A and 1.26% in group B.There was significant difference between group A and B(P<0.01).Conclusion Transfixing suture has much lower incidence rate of complications and shows advantages in sealing up dead space and hemostasis. It is recommendable in clinical application.
