Abstract: Artificial intelligence refers to any device that senses its environment and takes action to maximize its goals. In recent years, the application of artificial intelligence in cranial and maxillofacial surgery has gradually increased. Artificial intelligence has assisted diagnosis and surgical treatment of cranial and maxillofacial related diseases, such as predicting the risk of cleft lip and palate, early diagnosis of deformities syndrome, treatment of facial paralysis, intraoperative blood loss and so on. In this paper, the above aspects were analyzed and evaluated. At the same time, the ethics, safety and other problems of the development of artificial intelligence in the medical industry were also discussed.
