Abstract:

Capsular contracture is the most common complication of implant- based breast reconstruction, resulting in pain, poor cosmetic results, and reoperations. With the deepening of the understanding and research of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) in adipose tissue, their multi-directional differentiation potential and paracrine effect have received certain attention in the field of breast reconstruction. In this paper, the characteristics of ADSC and their basic and clinical research progress in breast reconstruction capsular contracture were reviewed. In the future, studies on a larger scale are needed to confirm its therapeutic and preventive effects on implant-based breast reconstruction capsular contracture and its long-term safety.
