Abstract: Verrucous venous malformation, formerly known as verrucous hemangioma, is a rare congenital vascular abnormality. It usually appears at birth or in early childhood. It enlarges with body growth and does not regress spontaneously. The early lesions are red in color, with clear boundaries. But in time they become increasingly hyperkeratotic and verrucous. It is generally accepted that surgical excision is the first choice of treatment. The incomplete excision would lead to recurrence of the lesion from the deeper components. Cryosurgery, electrocautery, laser therapy or sclerotherapy can be used to combine with surgical resection, to prevent recurrence or delay the development of lesions. In this paper, the diagnosis and treatment of verrucous venous malformation were reviewed, in order to guide the clinical diagnosis and treatment of verrucous venous malformation.
