Weight Control of Deepwater Semi-Submersible Crane and Pipe-Laying Vessel Construction

Abstract: The light weight and center of gravity (CoG) of semi-submersible crane and pipe-laying vessel (SSCV) are very important for its function. With the increase of tonnage, light weight and CoG should be controlled for vessel normal function. We introduce the classification of the SSCV weight, the significance of weight control, and the method of weight control in construction period. Moreover, the way to solve overweight of the vessel is described in detail.
