Abstract:

There has been growing attention to corpus-based discourse analysis. Relevant articles published in CSSCI and core foreign language journals were retrieved, classified, summarized, and reviewed to present the research findings and development trend of corpus-based critical discourse analysis in China. This study finds that there are few theoretical and much more empirical studies. For empirical studies, news/media discourses and political discourses have received more attention, but recently other discourses, such as web discourses, fashion discourses, speech discourses, and general discourses, have started to attract attention. The research focus is mainly on image construction, especially on national image construction, but there are also studies on the discourse construction of city image, enterprise image, the elderly's image, gender identity, specific group identity, individual identity etc.
