The Expectations of MTI Students and the Realities of the Programme

摘要：

历经16年发展,MTI项目面临的挑战与问题渐渐显现。本文基于学生端的案例访谈与问卷调查,通过内容分析与描述性统计将学生期望与项目现状进行对比,从“实践、实习与就业”“课程设置”“教师队伍”和“教学方式与学制”四个方面剖析所存在的问题并提出系列应对建议。建议包括:相关院校应当建立信息交流平台,为学生提供线上线下实习机会;对预开设课程进行统筹分类,打通学科选课壁垒,并将慕课纳入课程体系;根据项目需求调整教师招聘及考核标准,切实发挥校外导师的作用,旨在为MTI项目的改革与发展提供参考。

Abstract:

After 16 years’ development, the challenges and problems faced by MTI programme have gradually emerged. Based on student interview and surveys, this paper compares students’ expectations with the programme status quo through content analysis and descriptive statistics. The existing problems in terms of “practice, internship and employment”, “curriculum”, “faculties” and “teaching methods” have been discussed. Moreover, this paper presents a series of suggestions and solutions to cope with the above problems, providing reference for the reform and further development of MTI programme.
