Abstract: Natural polymer gelatin(GT)and synthetic polymeric materials polycaprolactone(PCL)have good biocompatibility and biodegradability, which could be used in tissue engineering. However, the disadvantages of simple component GT or PCL limits their application in tissue engineering research.GT/PCL composite scaffold overcomes the shortcomings of the simple component, and has better physical and chemical characteristics with the complementary advantages of both components, therefore has been widely used in the research of producing tissue-engineered organs and repairing tissue damages. In this paper, the characteristics of GT/PCL composite electrospun nanofibrous scaffold and its applications in many fields of tissue engineering were systematically reviewed.
