Research progress on buttock aesthetics and fat embolism events related to buttock augmentation by fat transplantation

Abstract:

As one of the most important methods of buttock cosmetic surgery, gluteal augmentation with fat grafting no

longer simply emphasizes on the increase of hip volume, but more concerns about shaping plump, harmonious and smooth hip

curve. Besides, the regional unitization and refinement of hip aesthetics can effectively improve the aesthetic effect of fat graft

buttock augmentation. In addition, being a powerful technique used in gluteal augmentation, autogenous fat grafting has the

advantages of small trauma, quick recovery and satisfactory results without obvious scar, however, its development is limited

by relevant fat embolism events. How to improve the safety of surgery by treating and preventing fat embolism events is of great

concern to plastic surgeons. In this paper, the research progress on buttock aesthetics and fat embolism events related to buttock

augmentation by fat transplantation was reviewed.
