Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of modified bipolar radiofrequency-assisted liposuction technology for body contouring. Methods From September 2012 to September 2015, 82 patients with skin relaxation were treated with modified bipolar radiofrequency-assisted liposuction. The aspiration was performed using a blunt cannula with low negative pressure firstly, then bipolar radiofrequency-assisted liposuction was used to stimulate profound contraction of the fibroseptal network for enhancing skin contraction. Satisfaction surveys of postoperative patients were conducted, and 3 independent plastic surgeons evaluated contour and skin quality with randomized preoperative and postoperative photographs postoperatively. Results All patients were successfully performed the operation, no serious complication was observed. The patients were followed up for 6 months. All patients were satisfied with their contouring result and degree of skin tightening. Conclusion Modified bipolar radiofrequency-assisted liposuction represents a safe procedure to achieve significant improvement of the skin laxity and fat deposition, and is especially suitable for the patients with skin relaxation.
