The Development and Validation of the Academic Leadership Scale for College Foreign Language Teachers

Abstract:

College foreign language teachers’ academic leadership is an important factor affecting foreign language teaching. The Academic Leadership Scale for College Foreign Language Teachers is developed through questionnaire and expert consultation. The Scale consists of two parts: individual academic leadership scale and group academic leadership scale, including 15 and 10 items respectively. Project analysis and reliability and validity index are used to test whether the structure and the content of the scale are reasonable. The results show that all the items can be classified into the factors contained in the scale, and the internal consistency of the factors is good. The results also show that the Academic Leadership Scale for College Foreign Language Teachers developed through this method has good reliability and validity. It can be used as an assessment tool to evaluate the academic leadership level of college foreign language teachers.
