Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for Severe Facial Deformity of Hemihyperplasia

Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of reconstructive surgery in severe facial deformity of hemihyperplasia. Methods From September 2003 to December 2014, 5 cases of hemihyperplasia with severe facial deformities were treated with integrated application of facial liposuction, resection of lipoma, malar bone and zygomatic arch grinding, spat suspension and so on. Results All the patients were followed up for 12 to 24 months, postoperative facial contour was significantly improved, and the postoperative facial expression was not affected. Conclusion Integrated reconstructive treatments for severe facial deformity of hemihyperplasia could greatly improve the facial symmetry, and has no affection on the postoperative facial expression.
