Abstract:

In the contemporary Internet age, the Internet has become a subject that cannot be ignored in contemporary British and American fiction. Delving into the technological reality, the contemporary novelists present an Internet writing that unmasks how the Internet affects inter-personal communication, individual empowerment and the Western political sphere, thus revealing the social alienation through online socialization, the commercialization of people in cyberspace and the Internet tyranny in the West. The Internet writing in contemporary British and American fiction embodies the novelists’ in-depth reflection on the Internet technology and showcases the novelists’ realistic concern.
