The Dissemination and Reception of Modernization Theory in China: A Transknowletological Perspective

Abstract:

Modernization theory is a derivative of Western mainstream social sciences, but its main object of study is the developing countries in the process of great changes. Thinking and researching about Modernization is a very important topic in Western academia. Since the reform and opening up of China, Chinese academia have begun to translate a large number of Western modernization theories systematically, which has had a great impact on the domestic academic scene. Through the translation of knowledge from other countries, on the one hand, it has promoted the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and Western academic systems, and set off the discussion of modernization theories in the Chinese academia; on the other hand, it has also promoted the shaping and construction of an autonomous theoretical system of Chinese path to modernization.
